M display at strartup

I recently bought Bimmercode to try to get the M logo to display at startup in the I Drive screen. I tried in in ISTA but the display was not consistent.
When doing the coding with Bimmercode there was a message that it only shows up under certain conditions, not always. What are the conditions where ut does or does not show up? What are the prerequisites?

i dont think 14's can do it. but dont quote me. i cant and im 13

My 14 does it used bimmercode as well. It usually come on only if I get in the car and start it straight away. But if I get in and maybe wait more than a few few seconds faffing about then it doesn't do it

As above, the startup screen only displays for a number of seconds from the car being activated. So if you unlock your car and then it stuff in the boot /trunk then you'll have missed it. Try locking the car and let it go fully to sleep (15minutes ish) then jump straight in and press startup button. You should see it.

Mine does it and is a 13 build.

i didnt know 13's can do that. i thought you needed the new ecu to do it. i coded it in and saw nothing

That is kind of what I think it is but I will keep track of all the "parameters" and see if I can figure out exactly when it works. Mine is a 7/13 build.

Well I can confirm it works on 9/13 build with nbt

NBT is a base requirement. Won't work on CIC IDrive.

Mine is a 14 and I coded the M logo on startup. Unfortunately, I do not remember the parameters I coded but it can be done once you have the NBT Navigation.

After a few days I can confirm that it works OK on the 2014 M6GC (9/13 build). The display is reliable and repeatable.
