How many of you members has brought a PreOwned M6 thats been in an accident??
I'm currently shopping for a pre owned F10. I have a friend who has a 2014 sahkir orange coupe that been in an accident. He says the car runs fine and he has no issues at all, although I dont know where or how bad the damage was.
Anyway,I've spotted a 2014 gran coupe looks very nice but it has "frame damage". What are your thoughts? is this something i should be worried about? |

If anything, they might help you get a better deal, and if you keep the car for a long time, something small won't really affect resale value over time. Also for a front-engine car, I'd take rear damage over frontal damage as there is less to go wrong in the back. Obviously only buy an accident car at a discount. |

Personally I would not buy a car that had been in any kind of recordable accident. There's too many good examples available to take the risk on one that could have problems later down the line.
To be honest I would not buy an M car from anyone other than a BMW dealer. It then comes with the approved-used warranty and checks. |

Yes i was thinking the same thing. It wouldn't be too bad by the back of the car vesus the front. They're asking $52500 with 31k miles on it. Hopefully the Carfax will give me additional information, if not I'll just pass

There are so many good deals with story-free cars out there, why scrimp for a $5k discount on damaged goods?

Frame damage no way, but a fender bender properly repaired and a nice 10-15% discount, sure. I have purchased several used M3s that way, never had any issues.

Mine was hit on the passenger side rear quarter panel. I was pissed, but try finding another ZCP with a 6MT and only 20k miles. Dealer took off $4k, but it still bothers me.

Anyways, I agree a 6MT ZCP is hard to come by. Buying a used car is a set of compromises.

Get a PPI
I just purchased 2014 M6 convertible. Make sure to check the Carfax or auto check and definitely get pre-purchase inspection.
There are nice cars out there. Good luck with your search! Jan |

Couldn't agree more about airbag deployment, frame damage or salvage/lemon titles. My '13 had minor cosmetic damage to the rear bumper, no big deal. But those other things are just way not cool.

To put it into prespective, I scooped my f12 with 21k miles for 46.5 from a BMW dealer... No accidents whatsoever and it was bought and always maintained at the dealer I bought it from. Had full brake service and the recall performed... Only a few knicks in paint.
