seized engine - rod bearing failure
Another one (me) bites the dust!
Very disappointing for a rather well taken care of 2013 650xi GrandCoupe with 100k kms on it. Engine stalled while driving, pulled over on the side and that was the end of it. Not able to turn it on and now being told need a new engine. If anyone has any recommendations I would appreciate. I will be updating to keep everyone else informed. |

I would suggest seeing if BMW will replace the engine for free or a very good cost. The N63 has issues.
https://thelemonfirm.com/2019/12/03/...ed-n63-engine/ also search Isley v BMW class action lawsuit. |

The Bang vs BMW NA law suit is about the original N63 engine. The Isley vs BMW NA law suit is about the next iteration N63TU engines. I think the link below gives some details about that law suit as well as the BMW TSBs that are examples of continuing issues (excess oil consumption issues): https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2...-lawsuit.shtml
