Has anyone exchanged door brake for infinite stop-point type?
2017 F06
I compared the images on of similar model year 750i door brakes, which are the infinite stop type, to mine on realoem.com. They look to be about the same. Has anyone successfully exchanged their original door brakes, which have three stop points, with those of the 750? |

They don’t look the same to me…I know that the illustration isn’t always drawn to exact specification…but when I look at the front left door brake for an f01/f02/f04 7 series…then look at the front left door brake for the f06…the illustrations don’t look the same. Am I missing something that you saw?
(#7) f01/f02/f04 door brake: (#7) f06 door brake:

BTW when I'm inserting images from the part database...i use the bimmercat.com site because it allows you to copy the illustration’s URL link by doing a tap & hold or right click over the image. And to insert pics...i select the desktop view...i think it’s a link at the bottom of the page when using the mobile app. #6 is the g11 door brake:

Qsilver7,
As always, you give the best presentations. Thank you! So, my father and I have been talking about it and it seems that it must have to have a hydraulic piston to have that capability of infinite stops. My next step is to look at Porsche parts to understand how they work. When I finish with my current (other cars) maintenance to-do list, this is something I would love to delve into. I’m short, so I hate when my door swings far out and I have to reach. Seems like as long as a different style brake would physically fit, could be machined up to be retrofit. Was hoping somebody had looked into this for their 6 in the past decade or so. |

When you get a chance to look into the project…do create a post to keep us updated. It would be an interesting project/upgrade.
