Would also like to know this!

For all the guys giving their cars a first wash of the year, here's a great guide from Pan who explains step-by-step detailing of a Gran Coupe.

Got to step 6 today before the light ran out

My car also came with the "old school" fobs. This new design is done by transplanting the chip from the old fob into the new one.

Lost my rear tow hook cover so I bought a generic 6 replacement. Rather than color match for lots of extra $$ my buddy had some CF wrap laying around he put on it. Also slapped on the CF diffuser from a GC.

Just some FYI for the general population...its not that the remote fob with the ///M colors on the side is a "newer" version of the fob...it's just a different design that was available. It's not old vs new...but regular fob vs MSport fob.

For instance...the fob that was pictured was the fob that was offered on some of the F & G chassis X models (X1/X2/X3/X4/X5/X6) if it came with the MSport option pkg...which means that this fob was being used at the same time that the f06/f12/f13 was in production.

You can see the fob (#2) in the illustration and link below to other models that used it. So if anyone was looking to get one that can hopefully get converted...this may help in your search for a blank remote.

That's interesting, I wonder why only the X models got this. It looks pretty nice without being overdone, although I doubt I'd be willing to go through the hassle of a conversion.

The concrete was just poured like 2 weeks ago, it's not complete yet. In between the concrete tiles it's going to have artificial turf.

Ahh...when I saw it...I assumed that you were getting some type of paving brick installed. Artificial turf? Wasn't pondering that as a fill media...my mind is blown.

I bet that driveway design evacuates water really well, too.

Replaced my kidney grilles today. I lost one of the 10 slats in my pre LCI right grill last Sunday. Thanks to Frupal...got a new set at a great price (really appreciate the quick response and shipping). Wasn't looking to upgrade to 9 slat LCI grills...but hey, they fit and again the price was right and they arrived Friday.

It's been cloudy with ambient temps between low 20°F in the morning to around mid 30°F for the highs...and its been cloudy since December 2019. Today the sun actually came out and the high today (so far) is up to 55° F (it feels like spring...and I've seen folks walking around in shorts). I was going to put this off because plastic is brittle in cold/freezing temps...but since it warmed up today...I thought I'd give it a shot.

Got her done...and some pics below shows some differences between the pre LCI 10 slat grilles and the LCI 9 slat grilles. Not only are there more slats on the pre LCI grille...the shape at the top of the slats are different and the slats are chromed differently and the sides have a different color:
  • 10 slat pre LCI grille - slats are chromed on half of the front side...and gray on the other half which is also cut at a sharp angle toward the side of the slat
  • 10 slat pre LCI grille - side of slats are gray
  • 9 slat LCI grille - slats are chromed on entire front side
  • 9 slat LCI grille - sides of slats are black

In the 1st pic below...you can see my snaggle-toothed 10 slat pre LCI grille. In the 2nd pic...you can see the 9 slat LCI grille (top) compared to the 10 slat pre LCI grill (bottom. In the 3rd & 4th pics below...you can see the broken pre LCI slat placed within the LCI grille which shows a closer look at the difference between the two designs of the slats.

Was able to put a few miles on the car in the last 2-3 days. Warm/dry spell up here, and only dry salt on the roads. The M6 doesn’t see snow or salt. Will do the driving season de-hibernation service in about 4 - 6 weeks, but did put in new air filters today.

The M6 is now officially the weekend car because i've just bought and repaired an old Benz which will be my daily

Hopefully this way I will not increase too much the odometer (from 10/15k km a year to maybe ~5000 km a year)

No other update for the moment, only top up some of the fluids:
100ml for the charge cooler and ecu coolant reservoir (G48)
837ml for the engine coolant reservoir (G48)
10ml for the hydraulic steering pump reservoir (CHF 11S)

Never ever had a problem or a low coolant warning message, so i think the car doesn't leak but always stayed a bit low.

It was yesterday, but got to fully enjoy it today with a long FAST toll road drive to south Denver...
New coil packs and NGK plugs
New giubo
Color matched side markers
Fresh oil and brake fluids, intake and cabin filters

My word this car is incredible... seems like the faster she goes, the happier she gets! Just feels more and more planted. My e60 535 could get going, but felt scary doing so. This 650 gets from 60-90 in a blink, and to 120 in another, seeming like its acceleration would be endless, just couldn’t stop giggling...
