2015 640i iDrive screen in sport mode

Hi guys,

Can anyone please take a photo of the idrive screen when the car is in sport mode? you know those two dials that display HP and Torque? i feel like mine were tampered with at the dealer and they now look different so i would like to confirm it with another car.

Those two dials are not related to sport mode. You can have those up in comfort as well. If they look any different in sport, I guess I've never checked, but I doubt it. I'd take a photo, but my car is still having hail dents removed. In what way do you believe they were tampered with - if that is even possible?

And not that this is related to your question, but I find those dials boring. I hardly ever look at them. They are most interesting in how few hp it takes to keep a big heavy car moving once it is moving - almost none. They are also interesting in that you can drive around all day long and never exceed about 150 hp in a 445 hp car (if you have a 650). They only go way up if you accelerate hard, and then only for a few seconds. Once you reach whatever speed you were trying to achieve, they go back to near zero. Once you have seen all that a few times, it's like "yeah, so?"

They actually drove home an important point to me. The more power you have the less time you spend at full throttle trying to get everything out of your car. If you have 500 hp and stomp on it, you will be breaking every speed limit before exiting 2nd in about 4 seconds give or take. My first car was a 914. You could drive that thing around all day WOT and nobody would notice while being fun to drive.

I too would like to see your dials and what about them you (OP) think is weird about them.

How does your 650 have numbers that high? Mine top out at about the rated HP and torque like 450 and 490. Some mod? OP, how is it you think yours look different than before?

This thread is a bit old, but I would just like to point out how much funnier this is now that the picture OP subsequently posted has been replaced by the little guy crying, with the very unfortunate logo of "tinypic" and caption of "Here's what mine looks like"

..."tinypic"...

But on the serious side...it looks like another long time image site has bitten the dust. Which means there's a lot of images that will be missing across multiple forums.

Bitten the dust or... kicked the bucket... apparently the photobucket.
