I must have done this while making selections in iDrive because my blinkers operate like below:
  • push down past the detent & release...the blinkers flash and stay on til the front wheels are straight
  • push down slightly & hold above the detent...the blinkers flash until I let go of the stalk
  • brief press & release...the blinkers flash 3 times (i.e. for a quick lane change)

I really think the interior ambient lighting isn’t bright enough.... hmmmm I wonder if there’s any way you could adjust the brightness.

yeah that's how they normally work. I think you can make them work normally in iDrive. I know my e60 could be changed.

Ohh that is a good point. In my C63 there was a small stalk above the indicator stalk and you could just knock it either up or down and it was instantly activated for the speed you were at.

In the M6 you need to press a button first to engage it, then press the toggle to actually make it engage.

See, I'd go just the opposite. I think they could have extended the center console straight through the rear seat and made it squarely a 4 seater.

Yeah that would be nice too, since that seat is essentially useless.

I see that your location is Switzerland...so I don't know if you all have different steering wheel options or not...but if you have the MFL steering wheel...there should be a scroll button on the right button pod that allows you to do just what you say you want in your quote. It's the little button with ridges on it...if you turn/roll it up or down...your radio/CD/music collection/presets will scroll up or down based on the way you move the button...and to make your selection, you press inward on the same button.

Also, when you make the initial movement of the button... the track or station or preset selections shows up on the right side of the instrument cluster (at least it does on my 2013 cluster). I just checked it to make sure I wasn't wrong...but even when you pull up the radio's manual station selection...if you don't have any presets...if you press the button it will start to search for stations...and again, when it stops at one...it will show up in the instrument cluster.

Thought you should know. The 1st image below shows the location of the scroll button on the newer MFL 3 spoke steering wheel...and the 2nd image below shows the location of the scroll button on the older 3 spoke MFL steering wheel:

Some things I dislike:

1. The weight. It's a pretty heavy car, and I feel BMW could have shed a few hundred pounds pretty easily.

2. The sunroof. I don't use one often, but when I do (a nice 70 degree spring day), I'd like it to open, not just tilt.

3. Trunk. As others have said, not crazy about having no automatic open/close mechanism.

4. RFT tires. As I've noted in other threads, I think BMW screwed this up. The wheels are already very heavy, and the RFTs add to it. The lack of a spare compounds the problem.

Those are probably the big ones, and as I said, there's very little I dislike about it. That said, if I didn't own a sports car, and this had to be my only car for all driving enjoyment, I don't think I'd pick it. It's a really capable GT / highway cruiser, but it's just too big and heavy for anything fun on a back road. I'd probably opt for the new M550 or M5 if you absolutely needed the space, or drop to a 4 or 3 for the fun. The big problem there is you lose a lot of the luxury and creature comforts.

Overall, the 6GC has proven to be a great car... and as I said recently, I'm not quite sure what would replace it right now - very little on the market could offer me more luxury or a better looking design. Its few faults, I'll live with them for now.
EZMass,
Among the dislikes, have you experienced vibration when driving, maybe noticed between 1500 - 1900 rpm? My 2016 650 xi GC (purchased as a CPO about a month ago) has this issue and is scheduled for visit #2 to resolve it.
Like others have mentioned, the lack of auto close on the trunk is something I miss. The sleek styling makes up for the minor dislikes, but not this vibration issue.

If BMW had done that, they'd have one less buyer here. I have a front facing car seat behind the passenger seat and a rear facing car seat in the middle. That set up leaves enough space for a 5th person to sit behind the driver. Mercedes must have thought like myself since the new CLS went from a 4 seater to a 5 seater.

Okay...we have the what (vibration)...and we have the when (@ 1500-1900 RPM)...but what we don't have is the where(?).

Vibration is similar to sound or noise...without detail...like a specific location...the context is vague. And since many have a built in vibration generator in the steering wheel if you have blind spot, and/or lane change warning feature...help us help you better by revealing WHERE you feel this vibration.

Is it in the steering wheel, seat, or chassis? Is it in the front wheels, front suspension, front steering components, rear wheels, rear suspension, or rear steering (if you have IAS {rear steering option})? Is it in the driveline (transmission), or engine bay?

Thanks Qsilver7 for your comprehensive answer I am well aware of the scroll button, but it again needs two steps for changing stations/songs (scrolling and pressing). Also fast forward within a song is not possible with this button, you have to stretch out for the button on the very right hand side of the center console... I know, premium world problems

Indeed - however the fact that BMW brought that button back to the steering wheel recently means that I was not the only one missing it...

Ahhh...thanks for the deeper explanation.

Fortunately for me...fast forwarding through a song is so rare since just about every piece of music I listen to has specifically been selected...so it is something I want to listen to anyway. And more than likely the skip track |>>>| or |<<<| is all I need to move on to another selection if I really don't feel like listening to whatever is playing.

The lack of a key holder where the cups are

both were on my F10

OH YES! How'd I forget this...it was one of the first things that made me go hmmm after my first test drive...I went to reach for the OH JESUS handle to facilitate exiting the car and noticed none existed.

1. Ventilated Seats.
The weak ventilated seat really gripe me, especially on a car of this caliber. The Lexus ES 350 has real air conditioned ventilated seats and they really work - you don't have to hover a half inch off the seatback to feel the air move.

2. The seatbelts in the GC.
Why didn't they mount those on the B-pillar instead of the seatback? I know why - value engineering. If they did the B-pillar mount they'd have to design new seats. This way they can use the same seats in the convertible in all the 6 series models.

3. Seat Comfort.
I had an 06, e60 550 and those seats were the best, comfy, but supportive. On my F10 550, they lost a lot of the coosh (coush?). On the F06 GC these are similar to the F10 seats, kinda lacking on long trips.

Other than these items I really love the car.

1. Same thing goes for my CLS. You have to hover above them to even feel them. I have to lift myself every minute to get some cool air there...

3. Honestly, I just don't want to sell my e60 because of how insanely comfortable the seats are. Especially the full-comfort ones. The CLS has stone tablets for seats both front & rear.... idk about the F06 but the few times I've driven one, the seats at-least kept me feeling in place

I really like the seatbelt mounted to the seat on my coupe - you can actually reach it! On the F82 it’s really difficult to reach! The B pillar in the F06 is a bit further forward than it is in the F13 but do you think it still might be a bit far?

Trivia moment, my other BMW has the seat belt on the seat too and was the first to have this - E31 850CSi. As such I’m probably bias
