Questions For You Guys...
Greetings. I have a good friend interested in a 14' 650i Coupe or Grancoupe M Sport. What are some of the things he should definitely be aware of or look out for? What are some of the must have options based on your own experience or that you wish you would have done?
- Marcus

The 650 has the N63tu from 2013 up, so the motor is good. The HUD is a must, Msport package is a must, the B&O system is great if you can find it, but not a deal breaker. It took me a while to find one with out the lane departure assist crap, i hate that stuff.
As soon as he buys it, Bootmod3, Eibach springs and forged wheels, it will transform the car. Last edited by doggboy; 11-10-2020 at 06:56 PM.. |

14 was the year the TU occurred. Definitely worth looking into.
Necessary options (my opinion) X Drive Exec Package Driver Assistance Package Stop & Go - Can't rememberer if this is part of the driver assistance package or what, but it is AWESOME!!!!!! I use it all the time. Most of these cars were pretty heavily loaded with options. Any car not having these above would be of lesser interest to most. I have the HK sound system. Totally sufficient for me. B&O was $3,700 upgrade. Good service history very important. I believe there are some threads here already that discuss this same topic. Good luck! L |

Thanks guys!
I have the B&O in my X5 xDrive50i and it is absolutely FANTASTIC! I never want another BMW without it. But it seems like they changed to Bowers nowadays. Anyone compared them? Which is better sounding? |

They could put a single speaker with am only lol and I'd be fine! Just joking but I almost never listen to music in mine. Love the turbo spoils and engine on hard downshifts. If you get into heavy mods look me up. There is all kinds of nasty in the n63tu.

The only two things on my for sure list was M-Sport and 2014 or newer. After owning two, (one was totaled, hit by another driver, two months into ownership) I would recommend skipping on a car with active steering (rear wheel steering) and get one with adaptive drive if you can find one. The first one had active steering and it was nice around the parking lot but really messed with me when driving aggressively. I could never tell how sharp the car would turn. The steering was different at every turn and every speed. The second didnt have active steering but had adaptive drive. It is a rare package and I got it with luck. It is edc WITH active sway bars. With a car this heavy it made a huge difference. You can feel the car flatten out and tighten up on the turns. It is really amazing and something I would look for if I ever had to get another.
