Vorsteiner wheels
Hey guys,
I have a set of 21" Vorsteiner VSE003's coming in a few days for my M6 vert, and I was tracking my order when I noticed that each wheel weighs 65lbs (with tires). Considering the tires weigh about 20lbs, these wheels weigh 45/piece? That's HEAVY! I didn't know vorsteiner made their wheels so heavy, maybe that's why a lot of purchasers go after HRE's? Any thoughts? Clarifications? |

The wheels won't weigh anywhere near 45 lbs. My guess is the wheels weigh between 25 and 30 lbs depending on whether they're multi piece or monoblocks. All forged wheel companies use the same aluminum forgings, so they are all nearly identical in weight depending on the design.

Phew. Thanks. I ordered Monoblocks, do they weigh less? Why is UPS weighing them to 65lbs then? Michelin PSS's don't weigh 40lbs do they? Sorry for all the elementary questions and thanks for following up.

Yes, 21" monoblocks will weigh less than 25 lbs. 21" tires weigh between 25-30 pounds. I'm assuming the extra weight is packaging material, and maybe the listed package weight is not 100% accurate. Don't worry, the wheels you bought are some of the lightest 21" wheels you can buy, and they look amazing!
