Climate controls
Hi all. Need some help. This driving batty. Not luck on google nor in the manual.
When my kids adjust the climate settings in the rear (temp or fan speed) the driver side temp and fan speed also change. I can’t find a way to decouple the rear and driver side zones. Sync is off. Any ideas?

What happens if you go into SETTINGS —-> CLIMATE & uncheck the rear climate box in iDrive?

That turns off the rear controls. But they turn back on again when the kids press one of the rear climate buttons.
I did some testing. The rear fan speed button controls both rear and front fan speeds. For example, if I turn the driver fan speed all the way down (but not off) then turn the rear fan speed all the way up, the driver side fan speed increases up as well. Is that normal? |

Just to verify...has the car had any coding done to the HVAC system that may have given the rear HVAC system the same "SYNC" control that the front HVAC panel has?

Based on some info from the TIS (see below)...the IHKA (front control panel) is a master controller...and if you have the rear HKA/FKA options...then they are "slaves". To me, that reads the rear HKA/FKA control panel should NOT have any affects on the front IHKA control panel since it is a slave and not a master controller. Something is either wrong or has been changed if you can control your front IHKA from the rear HKA/FKA:

Wow. Thank you for the info. I dove through the bimmercode app (normal and expert modes) but didn’t find anything that made sense to me. I don’t code so didn’t want to tinker around too much in there. The car has 4Nb 4-zone climate controls though so probably something is broken somewhere. Trip to the dealer for me!!
