I think it will be missing the DTC too, correct? Plus not sure if it will made in Germany or Mexico (or Meh'ico)?

The G8x cars set the styling bar so low, I can't imagine this not looking better lol

Going off topic, I just searched on Cars.com, there are 60 new M3 (G80) and 52 new M4 (G82).

There are 244 4 series (coupes and convertibles) new available. 2,693 3 series available.

56 new M8's (across all styles).

People are making appear that the car market is imploding and going into the stone ages. Remember, BMW needs to move metal, and the M's are the higher profit vehicles. If the waiting list is that long for months, people will move into something else, as this is not an exotic car and mass manufactured off of the 2 series/3 series/4 series platform.
The 4 dealers in my immediate area each have at least one new M3 or M4 available. Not sure what's going on at other people's dealers where they can't get them lol

20 aftermarket CF companies will create sub $300 vertical (classic) style inserts for these.

Be content with the fact they didn't carry over that garbage from the 3 and 4.

Just bc a dealer has them listed on a website doesn't actually mean they're for sale. A lot of those cars are customer ordered vehicles that they showcase as a means of marketing/advertisement while the car is in transport or waiting to be picked up by the customer.

Not saying they're selling well/not selling well either. But it's hard to gather a full picture based on the current market and the fact that a online inventories aren't very accurate to begin with

Working at a dealer, I can confirm this. Cars that are already sold or even custom orders can be on sites for weeks.

That being said, there are NOT a lot of allocations out there for the G8x. Most dealers are being allocated around 2-3 per month, and not of each model. Total.

When I picked up my M3 in late 2015, there were no other M3/4s at the dealership.

1 month ago when I got the oil changed, there was a G82 sitting in the showroom. But for all I know it could've been gone the next day.

What's my point? Using dealership inventories, especially this early in the model, is a poor indicator of actual sales. Couple the chip shortage and COVID effect on car sales, let's wait at least one more year (probably 2) before ruling on the success or not of the G8x.

Looks like the sharp edges of the front fenders belong on the rear and the smooth edges of the rear fenders belong on the front

It might just be me, but the front end of the new M2 kind of reminds me of the front end of an F10 M5, at least from the shape of the headlights and air intakes.
Agreed

Exactly!

The leaked photos show where the design comes from - straight from China from some sketchy small garage.

This is going the same way as the G8x release. First the leaks, the denials that it can't be true, and then everything all starts to become reality.
And then the strong sales.

Craziest part to me honestly.

Sometimes these new designs grow on me but not lately.

The new looks of the 3 / 4 series really don't say BMW
Wahhhh. Cry about it boomer. Plenty of other brands out there that would love to take your money.
Exactly! I'm here for the manual tranny, eLSD and a twin turbo 6 motor.

If you're getting yourself an automatic anyways, you have very little right to complain. The choices out there for that perfect metrosexual automobile, which satisfies your every needs are virtually limitless.

I'll take the boxy, shitface Beamer, with three pedals, that matches the above specs and be as happy as a pig in their own crap.

I have absolutely no hangups with this vehicle offerings, other than I hope it retails for under 62k MSRP.

That angularity appears just uninspired imo. The main thing is it looks brute by any means. Horizontal slats on top is kinda hard to take....wtf

I’m still in denial and anger over the G8x. Still think it’s just pig ugly and not just the front.

I’m hoping for the 2er to be my next car..... but it’s gotta look right as well as drive right....

It can look absolutely horrid yet brand zealots will still fork over cash.

Stop equating strong sales to anything of substance. If you like a broadly hated design just say it. No need to use a meaningless argument to support it.

I was saying the M3/4 might be tough in some areas, but that it’s relative. I was talking about a GT3 as truly hard to get ahold of. I started in Ohio, where I live. I was saying I tried as far as Cali and Florida — actually on the advice of the local dealer. 13 people were on the wait list for 1 expected allocation on day one locally and they want $5k to be put on the end of that list…. If you’ve got a Colorado dealer with a GT3 allocation let me know, I’d put money down right now.

Your perspective is a subjective one. Just because you feel that way doesn't mean everybody shares your sentiment. Buyers have ALWAYS been brand buyers. That's the entire reason we have luxury marquee brands to begin with; it's status……just like name brand clothes and shoes. Sure, one could argue that some people buy items regardless of gross appeal, but generally speaking, people aren't buying cars they dislike (….much in the same way that people aren't generally in relationships with people they aren't attracted to). That's just a silly ass assertion fueled by confirmation bias. Objectivity isn't what you're interested in.
