Question about using https://decoder.bvzine.com/

Hello all,

I am using https://decoder.bvzine.com/ to see the options the car originally had when it left the factory.

I have been able to find the option code for everything I am interested in except for the executive package.

I am using a combination of:

S610A Head-up display
S453A Climate-controlled seats, front
S6F2A Bang&Olufsen High End Surround Sound

and assuming that if it has these 3 items, then it got the executive package. Is there a better way to go or something more definitive?

You have discovered that the VIN decoding sites don't list some of the packages as we would assume (technology, executive, premium, cold weather, etc). For those packages...it's better to look/compare the ordering pricing guides for your model year to see what options are included in that package...then decode the VIN and compare.

The options included in some of those "packages" can change from model year to model year...and sometimes even from model to model...so it's understandable why the VIN decoding sites only lists the "S" option codes because what's included in a package can change...plus sometimes an option can be a stand-alone item and added outside a "package".

The ordering and pricing guides are easy to find by just doing a simple google search...for example...just type "BMW 2016 M6 pricing and ordering guide PDF" into a google search box

That was extremely helpful. I could never figure out the search to do to find the options and packages available in a given model year. Thanks a bunch.
