20 Wheels

When I bought my carI was very stoked about the 20 wheels. Now Im wondering if in fact they are the best option for the car. Ive heard that the 19s ride better and handle better. Anyone driven a 6 GC with both? What do yall think?

I have always been a fan of getting the larger stock wheel offerings. I switched to 19" lightweight wheels, larger sidewalls, and Non-RFT tires. The ride is so much better. The problem is not just the fact that you have 20" wheels, it's the fact that they are 373M wheels. I believe you already replaced your RFT tires. The 373M wheels are really heavy, like bricks, and RFTs are just awful.

When I was looking for my 6 I didn’t pay much attention to them. I only really noticed the difference at BMW of Monrovia where they had two 6ers side by side, one with 19s and the other with the 20s.
I think that was the moment when I was hooked on the 20s. Yeah, there is something you have to give up in ride quality, but to this day I would still choose the 20s.

It really depends what type of 19" rims you get. The stock ones for the 6 are kind of ugly. What do you think of this picture?

The stock 351 ( 19s ) were great looking wheel 8 yrs ago ..they are a lil long on the tooth but I wouldn't mind seeing them in 20 inch .. I was surprised to see BMW sticking with them for all those yrs

Your reaction kind of made my point (but I understand that the wheels are dark in the pic). Those are 19" rims. With the right color and style, they can look just as good as 20". Coincidentally, I just put those wheels (with new tires) on sale:

I kind of agree with this statement. Ive never been much of a fan of the blacked out wheel thing. It does really hide the beauty of the wheel IMO.

Gloss Black wheels on White (and San Marino Blue) look outstanding. On white, it gives it the tuxedo look. On SMB, it really makes the blue pop like alive electricity. The silver wheels dulls both colors.

The black MUST be deep black with serious shine. All of mine are triple black powdercoated. Many are not. Otherwise, it looks dirty, off black, and dull, which then hides the lines of the wheels. Matte black wheels are awful.
