While I'm not a fan of all G generation cars in terms of design, there's absolutely no debate for me that they're much better cars. IMHO, the F generation cars (minus the F87) were all a step down from their previous E generation counter parts. The F generation cars have a lot going against them. First attempt at EPS, questionable interior quality and design, so-so exhaust sounds. I also think the engines are better in the G generation cars (N55 vs B58 for example). Only problem with G generation cars is they've grown and gotten heavier which is far from ideal. But only a test drive would convince me whether they've gone forward or backwards.

Sales numbers between generations are not always easily comparable. There are always different external factors (economic, income, market preferences, etc.) that can influence sales, even the number of vehicles in the lineup has changed in a short amount of time (new vehicles such as 2GC, X2, X7 were introduced more recently) which would have an effect on overall total sales numbers.

as a Nardo owner, I'll be nitpicky and note the Kia color is "ceramic silver" and Honda doesn't have the color. Nardo is an Audi stock color.

WHy did they hire a designer from Fiat as their lead designer? For such a big brand as BMW, you would have thought they would hire designer from Ferrari or mc laren ffs.

There was a shift in car design ever since Kia/Hyundai started making competitive looking designs and ever since then the trend has been "Go f***ing nuts."

Unfortunately for the m3/4 they will likely sell more but only because of the AWD option now. But this 2 should definitely sell less than the current gen. No way people prefer this to the old. Give me an M2C or CS any day over the new M2 comp

While I certainly don't think the new M3/4 is perfect, I have no problem saying that there's other areas of the cars that are absolutely an improvement over the previous generation. While I love the current M2C, I wouldn't make a bet that the next one is not a better driving car after trying out the G80.

Apologies! I misread your post and thought you were saying the G cars were selling worse than F like the other person implied.

This will be one of the only manual RWD coupes being produced for $60k-ish. It'll sell just as well as the F series, if not better. |
