Best Cell Phone Mount Options?

new 640i convertible owner here...is the proclips cell phone mount the best option? i'd rather not have the a/c vents blocked.

Link to one of my earlier posts...essentially, I took a home iPhone stand, disassembled and repurposed to make a mount that is inside my cup holders. Cup holder lid shuts fine, so everything can be out of sight when not using. Of course, this severely limits my ability to use the cup holders, but that has not been a problem for me. Cord is run under the console and can be run to the USB in the center console to get power.

since this time I have replaced the curved brackets with simple cone shaped (with flat top, not pointy top) rubber stops.

Just curious...why do you need to mount your phone? Do you use your phone for navigation instead of iDrive navigation?

For telephony purposes...I use bluetooth...and I'm fine with the iDrive navigation...so I don't have a need for a mount.

With Qsilver on this one. Never needed a mount because the phone is always tucked away in the armrest. Personally I also think tacked on mounts spoil the otherwise perfect design of the 6ers dashboard.

I prefer to use Waze on the iPhone as opposed to iDrive navigation since it alerts me to Police ahead.

I have ProClip. Had an audio guy run a wire behind the vents. Love being able to see the phone, also can use Waze on it. It does not seem to interfere with the air flow.

I like (use) this one. Simple, clean, allows you to utilize the cupholders.
