I actually saw the 3/4 series car. Some guy at a car wash that I was at recently. The grills actually looked "smaller" in real life. For some reason, the grills appear much bigger in pictures. I believe that it is the perspective that the photos are taken.

Fuckin bitchin. I‘ve got a M5 CS on order and can’t wait to get it - lots of overlap with this M3.

Imagine how many of these they would have sold had they made just a few tweaks. Change that snout, how the rear fender bulge fits the rear door, the sound, and you've got yourself a winner for sure.

IMO they appear as big in person as on picture. That front end is a turn-off for sure.

My local dealer just told me there are no allocations left this year, the production line is full (at least for our market).

Yeah, it sells sooo bad because of the front...

It is practically impossible to get an allocation right now, and that's before AWD is released. I think they're doing just fine.

Yeah, the sales will be terrible overall from abandoning their core audience, which is snooty, but not that snooty.

And it's not because they are beautiful, because they're obviously not.

It's a beautifully polished turd, as we used to say in the car business.

Na they'll sell well.

They're just not as feminine as the m2 and previous m3's

Just mean lookin, not a classic "beautiful" car but a monster.

You sure? I had ordered one fully stacked and decided on the m2 cs instead. I’ve passed on it for months now and the allocation was still available and the car arrived last week and the dealer asked me if I still wanted it. I don’t. It’s physically at a store and hasn’t been sold and I think it’s a build anyone would like.

So they ain’t flying off the shelves

Brokers have stopped taking orders for M3/4 orders, and there are a bunch of people who have been waiting on allocations since March. That said, comp is a lot easier to find than 6MT. If you're looking for a comp you can probably find an allocation, 6MT is a lot harder.

I'm sure it will all settle down, but the guys trying to pretend the M3/4 have been a flop are more just projecting their own desires at this point, rather than any sort of reality.

The frozen gray just makes it looks so much more aggressive... loving that color!!! Just hope the maintenance of the paint is not as hard as people claim

Agree on the frozen gray, ordered it on my Z4 build. The maintenance is not hard, just different than metallic. Basic rules of bird dung and tree sap off ASAP. On the matte paints no buffing. Just wash and dry.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Also, there is someone/thing out there for everyone.

This is not my one.

The resemblance with F-15X Super Eagle color scheme is remarkable. What a fantastic vehicle. Thanks for sharing.

Hilarious comment.

I'm shopping for one right now and can't come close to MSRP on any car that's on a lot. They are asking $10k over in most cases. Allocations are also nowhere to be found...anywhere....in the country.

LeaseHacker brokers with access to hundreds of dealer networks can't get anything right now.

And you're telling us that sales will eventually die down? The AWD is a 2022 model and will surely sell out every allocation or dealer build. So when is it? 2023? 2024? In it's last year of production?

The irony is especially rich coming from an M2 owner. How many jokes about the back half of the car and it just being a suped up M240i and not a real M (that's the M2C) did you have to sit through? According to enthusiasts way back then the M2 was going to be a flop.

1. You're acting like the car is beautiful because there are production issues on a new BMW during a pandemic? Now that's rich.

2. I haven't sat through any jokes, the M2 is the new M3, and the M3/M4's are cows. Oh how I wish it wasn't so, I'm an M3 fan from way back, but I'm also a fan of beauty, and to my eye they missed the mark with the new car.

3. I also never saw any press that said the M2 would be a flop. Seems whomever said that got it pretty wrong, since it'll one day knock the E46 off its perch. That's something the G80/G82 will never come close to doing.

Hey man, no harm, no foul, I just think (like most people, not BMW fanboi's) that the new car needs some tweaks to really carry that badge properly.

1. I've never called this car beautiful. I also don't think the X1 or 6 series GT are beautiful but you won't catch me in those forums shitting on those cars.

2. So.....enjoy your M2? The M5 is too big for me. I owned an E39 back in the day. I miss that car. I'm not in the M5 forums calling the considerably bigger F90 a cow.

3. We're not talking about the press. The press gave it AMAZING reviews and it's largely why I bought one. We're talking about 'BMW fanboi's' who thought that the M2 was a cash grab and was sure to ruin the //M division for being a bolt on M240i with a non S designated engine. If I had listened to them I would have bought a Cayman.

Also, this BMW 'fanboi' thing is getting really confusing. From one side of the mouth I hear 'only outsiders, new buyers, and non BMW enthusiast are going to buy this car' and simultaneously out of the other side of the mouth its 'BMW FanB01s arE tHe OnLy OnEz deFendInG it'.

The only BMW 'fanbois' are the ones gatekeeping and praying at the alter of the E30/E36/E46. Running into G8X forums to tell us what we should or should not like. Classifying us as 'fanbo1s' (pure projection) for liking the car.

Be content with your 2018 6MT M2. It's a great car. I drove one for 3 years.
