Just purchased a 2016 GC White with black interior. Love it!

Thanks, it’s a fantastic ride. Sure are a lot of functions on the 6 series that I’m not used to.
No sure if this was the previous owners settings, but the blower motor turns on when I start up the car and I’m pretty sure I turned everything off before I shut off the car.

I have read threads on it, and people mention air quality and moisture.

You have an IHKA (automatic climate control system) that also has pollen/micro filters. The system comes on 99% of the time so that the air in the cabin is always filtered through media to clean the air.

If you've turned the system off, but you're running errands and you come back to the car within like 15-16 minutes (or whatever the time interval is for your model before it goes into SLEEP mode)...the system will remain off. If you come back to the car after a longer time period...then the IHKA will start up again...usually at the LOWEST setting. If you still want the system off...then all it takes is ONE PRESS of the button to turn the system off again.

So, if you are an allergy sufferer, or you just like the fact that the system has pollen/microfilters and/or activated charcoal filters (to help eliminate odors)...the fact that the system turns itself on automatically is a welcomed feature.

I'm curious why you shut everything off before you shut off the car? You mean right before shutting the car off you turn off the AC blower?

I quess I've always had the mindset to power down everything before turning the power back on.

I used to think that way too. I learned it from my dad, way back in the 70s when I first learned to drive. We lived in Minnesota and his point was that we were lucky if the thing started at all in the winter, so the only thing ‘taxing’ the battery at start up should be the starter. Was a good point. But now, with today’s battery and car technology I just let the car do its thing.

In SoCal, you’ll get a ticket about three seconds after you remove your front plate. I’m stuck with one as well.

Same in Chicago. There are ways of having a front plate without defacing the front bumper though. However, once the front bumper has been violated, it will never be pure again.
