640d ASD?

Hi All,

I’ve been reading up a lot on people talking about Active Sound Design, Daft question here, is there a way to find out if my 2013 640d has this or is it standard on certain models?

Next question, If you can, has anyone Coded their 640d to change the note of their exhaust to say an m4/m5 sound?

I’ve read a lot about people with the petrol model having good results, albeit fake results but still!

TIA

Dan

im sure all 640D models have it, mine is 2014 and has it

i coded mine with the M4/5 noise. Its not a massive improvement but gives a nice little rumble over the standard tone

That’s what I was hoping for.

What route of coding did you go down, did you do it yourself through the likes of Vgate or Carly?

Thanks for the info bud

Some links in another thread below

For simplicity go for Carly, for real granular detail go for esys,

Happy to help

Yes you can code it to any BMW/Mini/RR vehicle. I particularly encourage people to code it to a Rolls Royce Ghost or a Mini Cooper for shits and giggles.

Otherwise the ASD module can be simply disconnected. Note the unit's location for the coupe and the gran coupe are in different locations.

For my M6 with the Akrapovic, I disconnected it. It was interfering with the true sound of the exhaust.

You wouldn't really want to hear the true sound of a 640D.

And yes, easily coded via Esys/Carly/Bimmercode.
