M8 GC upgrade?

I’m loving my M6 GC and no plans to change it any day soon but what’s the verdict on the M8 GC which is set for production later this year or next?

Will be significantly faster, but based on the spy pics I have seen, I wouldn’t pay the extra money for the looks... Interior will be gorgeous, but the full digital dash not my cup of tea...

I have no plans to move on either but i can see getting a preowned one in 5-6 years if it looks impressive in person. Thats still TBD though, the pics dont reflect the finished product

Sadly the production model will look nothing like that. The interior and new technology is a big plus but the exterior shape and wheel setup just doesn’t do it for me at all. My favorite feature and main reason I got my M6GC is the wider “flared” out rear end like the generation before when deep wheel lips were cool and the face of the wheel could be set back. similar to the newer M3’s which even looks more aggressive with its fender shaped. This just looks like it would be a regular 8 series with a different front+rear bumper. Everything else the same. If you see what I mean. Idk man maybe it’s just me but wheel concavity makes a car for me. These m8 wheels are flat as hybrid ones lol

Amen to that. A concave wheel is just the best

Amen indeed, I do like the idea of the interior but the exterior doesn’t seem special enough - thats good as in my mind it makes our M6 GC seem even more exclusive lol

all of those that have no plans to upgrade to an M8, I'd would suggest taking a drive of the current F90 which the M8 will be based upon, there is a planetary difference between the outgoing current M Cars V the latest gen, totally different level in every conceivable way, personally I cant wait to upgrade as nice as the current model is its getting on abit

I’m always a fan of the M cars but for me personally as I already only use a fraction of its capability then any further enhancements become a little redundant. So for me if it’s already (M6) got the right sound (v8 oem/Akra exhaust) performance, amazing looks and rarity (I’ve yet to see another) then I reach i point that I’m less tempted unless I LOVE the look of next new M car, like the m8, and I’m yet to see those images of the M8 GC that really tempt me. That being said when the initial big m8 GC depreciation has hit and im 2-3 years down the road then maybe I’ll be more receptive

Not feeling the 8 series. Exterior feels too "modern" and "digital" and the interior loses the "cockpit-like" feeling of having the console geared towards the driver. Maybe over time...

Wow, now that DOES look good vs the GC snap shots I’ve seen , if they can make the GC more like that then maybe, once the depreciation has kicked in
