On what do you base this assumption? Most if not all BMW NBT / NBT EVO Headunits (regardless of the BMW model) are made by the company known as Harman Becker Automotive Systems GmbH, in short Harman.
This has nothing to do with Harman Kardon or any other stereo systems/types and/or brands.
In other words the compatibility of a Harman NBT Navigation Headunit is not related to the type of sound system installed in your car.
