"Chirping Sound" When Driving with Windows Down?

I'm hearing an annoying "chirping" sound when driving with the windows down...it's coming from the passenger side of my M6GC and while faint it drives me crazy!

I've tried to hold the passenger seat tight to see if it was the seat or headrest but that didn't seem to make it go away. Perhaps it's a way the wind is hitting a seat belt or the pop up shades in the door or something? I may have to have someone ride shotgun and see if it goes away or they can pinpoint where coming from when the weather is nice. Curious if anyone else had that happen?

Pic for attention

Damn...at least I’m not going crazy! Hoping someone has figured it out as while the radio helps I know it’s there still.

Funny posters because I hear the same thing! However mine sounds like it's coming from the driver side rear. No idea what it is but it seems to be the air hitting something causing it to chirp. .

Is your rear window privacy shade up or down?

Same!

Already fellas...we gotta figure this one out! I’m going to have to get a passenger with good ears to crawl around and freeze them out one day soon given it’s cold here now.

Had the same thing for years... drivers side on a GC... seems like it's coming from around the drivers window / defrost vents in the door in my case...never been able to track it down... very interested to hear if anyone has figured this out!

I only bought my car 2016 GCCP yesterday and also hear this with driver window open! Not investigated yet. I thought it might be stones being thrown against something metal underside or the brakes?

Garage List
Chirp when you hit a bump or imperfection on the road? When you roll down the window, does it squeak? It maybe the rubber seal/wipe rubbing against the window when you hit a bump or something. Had that happen on my MINI Cooper and it drove me nuts until I finally found the source of the sound. Nothing a bit of Teflon tape couldn't fix.

Definitely not stones / suspension in my case... it happens cruising down any smooth road with the windows down... Have to be moving probably 35mph plus for it to happen...Its a very light rattle that's been there consistently over the almost 4 years I've owned my car. I honestly have always thought that cruising with the windows down creates a vacuum of sorts inside the car and this might be making something inside the ac system wobble / flap / shake due to the change in pressure.... My best guess... Would love to get it figured out and eliminated...

Did you guys try to tape the rear mirrors off. I know that issue from another car. The side mirrors make a funny sound like a high pitch squeeze. It came from the small little gap between the upper and lower shell of the mirrors.

I was determined to figure this out today, but it still got the best of me. Here is what my (plus my passengers) observation was:
  • "chirp sound" is coming from passenger side rear door it seems
  • Happens when cruising anywhere from 30+ regardless of road quality
  • If rear windows & window shade is up (front windows down) it seems to go away

I taped the rear window shade area down with tape and it seemed to help but I didn't have a passenger when I did that. Seemed to be a bit less noticeable when I rolled the rear windows up slightly. Someone solve this riddle (the M6GC folks will thank you)!

We looked over the rear seat belt and thought it could be the rear speaker by the window but here is again where we feel the sound is coming from:
