Nice! I recall fondly my time in DMV. Back when I had a lot of spare time, I drove GW Parkway countless times, from 495 to Mt Vernon.

I also think Katie's Cars and Coffee is the best in the US.

Absolutely, my favorite drive is GW parkway and then turn onto King street, now Old Town has a few of the best restaurants in the US! Also, continue all the way to George Washington estate along the Potomac.
Was DC a temporary assignment?

Yep! You know it! King Street drag, and then the final miles to the Mt Vernon turnaround. Also a very good bike ride too.

I worked at US Treasury in DC between 2005-2013.

Awesome! I'm located in the DMV too. I'll have to check out the drives you guys are talking about. I'm west near Dulles so most of my drives are typically on some scenic routes in west Loudoun County through wine country.

Here's a pic of my newest acquisition. Several mods coming soon.

Oh no, GW Parkway is not worth a drive from Dulles for. Though you are close enough to Walker Road in Great falls. Route 193 is a pretty good drive, and it connects to the GW Parkway via a spur off 495 IIRC.

Cabin John/ Clara Barton Parkway on the Maryland side of the river is also good, though the road sometimes it's too narrow and gets jammed.

My ultimate favorite drive is all out in the skyline drive areas near Front Royal, including skyline drive itself.

Great! I work across the Ferrari dealership, but my M6 is a weekend car as the daily commute from Alexandria to work is terrible, I use my GX460 for that. There are a lot of back roads and the blueridge parkway is also one of my favorites as I used to drive it when I was at VT.
Post some more pictures of your M6.

Ha! Actually I have taken Rt 193 a few times when Rt 7 was way too jammed. I actually take 7 into McLean for work occasionally. Will have to check out some of these other routes though!

Still needs a drop and some spacers -- but the car was clean and the weather was nice so I snapped a few iPhone shots

Thanks! Nope - no cutouts. Only thing I did was have the tail lights coded to run in sync with the DRL so they're always lit to give it a nice contrast through the film. I went with the lightest tint available from Laminx.

Also, slightly off topic, anybody recommend a good speed ticket attorney for VA (Fairfax county)

That side view is just perfect. IMHO one of the best silhouettes on a modern BMW they ever made.

Agreed -- I love the side profile of this car. Truly does take the words 'Gran Coupe' beyond marketing/branding fluff
