Does this relate to the propellent in the cans? I know they keep the compressed gas cleaners for computers behind the counter. Hell in some other towns in Canada they keep the lysol under lock and key.

Nitrous oxide is used for whipped cream spraying, because it does not spoil the taste like other common propellants. It was also the drug of choice for The Grateful Dead band members, from first-hand reports.

Amazon blocks all orders of diabetic pen needle caps to NY State, because state law requires a prescription for them and purchase through an in-state pharmacy with a huge markup.....

And you're not going to solve the street drug problem by outlawing whipped cream, so may as well ban helium too since both are delivered to the body via balloons and look enough alike.

Fwiw we used to do whip -it's in the 80s and I worked at Friendly's.

I never felt the need to bring it up a level to acetone or toluene

Two different issues. Did you read the story I included?

Helium is a non-reactive gas used in balloons. Other than having the ability to displace oxygen and making you sound like a smurf when inhaled, it's relatively safe.

Nitrous oxide, used as a propellant in whipped cream for instance, is highly reactive....

Reminds me of back in the day when I was playing around with nitrous oxide injection with my project car. People would ask (sometimes seriously) about taking hits off of the nitrous bottle. Told them that's a no go as the nitrous sold at speed shops are "poisoned" with sulfur to make it not so pleasant to inhale.

Soooo... what exactly do they do with these bottles? I mean is the gas in the can WITH the cream? Do they have to somehow filter the cream out to get at the gas or do they snort/inhale/whatever the cream itself?

In high school I worked in a country club. a typical Saturday I would do a case of whip-its. It was one of my favorite highs (and I was high a LOT, and used almost everything available for recreational use)

If you actuate it vertically all you get is the nitrous. I usually take a hit before I put the can away.
