Help me identify this noise please

Hello guys, posting again because the last post had some link issue. Attaching 3 videos

One video is driving and decelerating
And other two are standstill revs holding it at 1000-1200 rpm.

Is this the wastegate rattle or heatshield? Car has vrsf catless downpipes along with akrapovic exhaust. The standstill rattling has started since a few days and everytime i drive around cruising it sounds like a bag of nails. It’s super embarrassing. Anyone in here?

Video link -

https://youtube.com/shorts/pMpEyrcLoNA?feature=share

https://youtube.com/shorts/6lDgDM6IvVY?feature=share

Incase anyone is not able to view from the link here the videos are named ‘Wastegate rattle m6’ ‘heatshield or wastegate?’ ‘Wastegate rattle’ on YouTube. Looking for advice. Thanks in advance.

Did you do something with your clutch/transmission lately?

It sounds like clutch/fly wheel sound which is normal BMW says and they are right but only when the sound proof piece on trans is missing, mine was doing similar sounds even when idling after crank bearings was replaced and forgot to put back that little foam piece

Hi, I recently got my suspension bushes changed. This noise is even there if poitering around at 1000/1200 rpm. And even worse when the car is coasting a stop, when the clutch is disengaged.

just check if insulation foam between transmission and engine is there, its a very small piece and even smaller hole at very bottom of trans, clutch makes noises and its there to quiet it down

Sure I’ll have a look! Any idea if this is touched while installing removing the front struts?

all I want to say the nois is very similar to one I had, it was metal rattle even on idle, and it was changing with engine rpm, clutch makes that kind of noises thats why there is this insulation foam, when its missing car sounds like the clutch is dying, it costs nothing to check if its there, but if its there you have to look somewhere else

Hi. I used the youtube fix for wastegate rattle & tightened my akrapovic valve. The rattle is gone!
