This is my M6 GC. There are many like it but this one is mine.
I fell in love with the Gran Coupe at first sight in 2012, driving southbound 235 in Oklahoma City when a grey 650i whooshed past us. I told my wife "that is our next BMW".
When they announced the M6 GC I immediately went to the configurator and built my dream, but my heart sank at the price...far beyond what I felt I'd ever be able to afford. Fast forward a few years...we decided to replace the 215,000 mile 545i that we'd lost to a hailstorm with an M6 GC. Our business had done well so I started out with the intent of buying a new one, but with the announcement of the M8 as well as the ridiculous depreciation buying new made no sense. Did lots of shopping and researching before deciding on a 2015-2016 GC Comp. My wife found this 2014 GC Comp and told me "we should look at this"...I blew her off at first because it wasn't a 2015 or newer. But I called the dealer anyway and had an excellent interaction. We built a relationship of trust as my PPI guy and other research proved that he and his cars were as presented. So I pulled the trigger on a 2014. I can't feel the 25 less HP but it bugs me...so the several thousand I saved over a 2015 will send it to Dinan when 575HP starts to feel slow. I found some scuttlebutt that some of the 2014 GCs had the 2015 Comp package with 600HP but I haven't been able to verify. It's rare that you get to realize a dream that you though was probably always going to be out of reach...most of the time life teases you with almosts and not quites. This is my M6. There are (not acually all that) many like it but this one is mine. |

Congratulations and enjoy safely! By the way, Dinan's claim for 680hp assumes their Dynod' base at 620hp, if you look at their numbers, but I believe your car should qualify for an engine software upgrade to "600hp" from BMW. Check with the dealer cause BMW offered the upgrade after they bumped the hp from 575 to 600 for the CP.

Dealer will charge the standard programming fee for labor and you technically have to buy the software as well. Not cheap for an extra 25hp at the very top of the rev range. Also I believe that only vehicles produced after a certain build date can actually make use of the software. I'm fairly certain that most if not all MY2014 M6 can't make use of the software update. |

not worth paying for, just get it tuned! A stock 575 bhp feels anemic after tune, trust me!

i'm still on stock clutches and at 52k now.. Tune for about 10000 miless. Go with a tuner that knows you're on stock clutch, they will push it to around 680bhp or so and its fine. Anything more and you may have slip.. That is based on a good healthy clutch to begin with! But of course, can't hurt to drop in a SSP clutch pack just to be safe. Thats on my mod list when I seek more powa!

You are correct and OP, 2015 MY did NOT have 600hp. First year with 600hp was when 2016 MY was released which is also the LCI model for M6

I agree, an aftermarket tune gets more HP at the usable portions of the RPM band. The stock ZCP tune figures are just for bragging rights. |

Congratulations! Enjoy the M6 GC. IMO the best looking car BMW has on the road today. I enjoyed mine but had to let it go as we needed more space for a growing family.
