Cars in UK are supplied with a plastic plinth to fix your front plate onto, either with screws or double sided tape. In Europe a plastic frame is more popular.
Same here in down under... Would be great to have a clean front, but not an option. I considered various frames and holders, but decided that the least obstructive is nothing, just the plate...

I use Velcro on another car. It holds perfect even at 250km/h+

I went the tow hook route, screws right on for inspections and i keep it in the trunk. In MA you get a 5 day tag and an inspection station needs to stamp something to be mailed. 15 bucks from amazon/ebay

If you get stopped by any of the police in France, they like to inspect your car to see if they can catch you on any minor infringements. They will fine you if they spot a licence plate held on with velcro or similar. Apparently it must be bolted or rivetted on.

Ah, but what happens when you go really fast

Seriously though, is the Velcro self adhesive and can you remove it if necessary? I might consider that as an alternative to double sided tape.

Max top speed was 295km/h and it was no problem but I don’t drive so many times 290km/h than 250km/h. One side of the Velcro you glue to the bumper the other side to the license plate. If you have a dark car and you remove the plate you can hardly see the Velcro. I am 100% convinced about the Velcro.

Same issue in Oregon. I hated the look and the idea of drilling into the bumper. As a compromise (and to avoid harassment) I overpaid for the M/Carbon fiber mount/holder. It costs way more than it should but I like the look so much that I don't mind the plate so much.

It is a good position but it will cut too much air flow for cooling. Specially in hot summer.

thats not true. i asked 2 different tuning experts they said the kidney grills give more than enough air to the engine. i monitor all the temperatures and it has 0 effect on cooling.

That said, there are electronic "flipping" plate mounts. I don't have a link, but I'm sure you can find one on Amazon or elsewhere.

So, no plate. One more reason I moved from NJ to PA.

ETA: see the M5 video above. It's exactly what I was thinking of.
A European M6 GC owner here, afraid we have no choice (& never have) for front plates but we make the best of it

Ohio just changed the law that requires a front plate. although I never put one on a car I owned only on leased vehicles.

I live in Queens, New York. It's hit or miss. Some cops love the look and others can't wait to stop me.

There's cops that are specifically out to issue summons and do nothing but look to give out summones.

In New York you can be issued parking tickets by traffic agents for no front plate. It's quite annoying here. They have regular spots were they hide and pop out of no where for petty things like tints and no front plates.
