lost my rear bumper tow hook cover!

So I suddenly see my rear tow hook cover is gone! I found the parts, but are they all un-painted?

https://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-7...uine-bmw-part/

My car is black, is there any pre-painted parts of this panel???

If you want "pre-painted" then you'll need to search for a used one that is already painted. But you'll need to search using the actual color of black your car is painted...there's more than one black...if you get the wrong one...it will be obvious.

Off the top of my head the f06/f12/f13 "black" paints are (there may be more...this is all that comes to mind at this time)...and I believe all three models use the same rear tow hook cover (check one of the part databases to verify):
  • Carbon
  • Sapphire metallic
  • Citrin metallic
  • Ruby metallic

Hmm...this means that you must have never run your VIN through a decoder site.

Go get the last 7 digits of your VIN (its located on a label just above the rocker panel when you open the driver's door (look to your lower right when you open the door)...or look at the lower left side of the windshield {from outside} for the VIN plate screwed into the dash)...then enter those digits at this site...at the bottom of the top half of information, it will give your cars exterior paint color: www.mdecoder.com

Good luck...as you can see in the screen shots below from the 6 series brochure...black isn't just black...BMW uses undertones (base coat paint) layered with top/final coat paints that have different hues & colored metallic flakes that can create significant visual differences based on ambient lighting. They all may look "black" in the dark, but on a sunny day or even overcast/cloudy day...all of these colors will look differently.

I’d be cautious about the eBay painted ones, I do that and it didn’t match at all. Mine flew off anytime I went over 180. Happened 2 or 3 times, I thought someone kept stealing them at first, make sure to add a little silicone so it doesn’t fly off again.

Happened to me twice. The cost is around 30 bucks but its the paint and inconvenience thats annoying. I ended up gluing the second one on. Driving around with a hole in my bumper was killing my OCD!
