Calling DCS a "game" is an insult. It is a study simulator, similar to what jet pilots earn their certifications on. Kudos, I bough Viggen for DCS (in top 3 of my all-time favourite jets) but couldn't find time/motivation to learn all its systems. Instead I fly ME262 in IL2-Sturmovik Battle of Bondenplatte.

Yes, it thrives online with active squadrons, voice comms, team tactics etc:
If you want you can be a lone-wolf too. Any new pilots are welcomed and appreciated, because as a genre flight sims are not popular (hopefully the upcoming MS Flight Sim with its mind-blowing graphics will revitalize the entire genre).

Yep. Unfortunately most of the maps are pretty bad, there are like 2-3 that I like. Ground war is too chaotic for me so I never play that.

Ive been playing the new small map they have on the 24/7 mode, every game is that map and it cycles game modes. Try it out if you haven't yet, it's pretty fun.

Well the maps are different compared to old school maps in that they aren't just a 3 lane map. The new map that's running 24/7 is like that so I see why a lot of people like it.

I personally love Ground War because I've mainly played battlefield games growing up so that kind of play style is fun.

Some maps like Piccadilly are just outright bad tho. I can't even play them. Overall the game has been fun, I'm excited for more new map releases in the future.

The gameplay is great. Load times are a bit slow at times, but not long enough if you're running to the bathroom to drain your bladder. HAHA!

You get to modify your car with engines and engine parts, change wheels, put wings and change fenders and hoods and exhaust pipes. You can change colors, add livery and customize the look.

You have to tune your car to the track. If it's all asphalt, you have to stiffen up your suspension, change gear ratios and brake bias. If not, your car is very hard to drive. Same thing with dirt surfaces.

Download is only like $35 if that. Worth it to me.
