Wow! Gorgeous car and I love the chrome wheels, doesn't look right on most cars but goes nicely on yours.

Hey Frupal,

You have had your car for about as longs i have had my 2015.I am close to 70K miles. Have you had any issues to date? I bought mine 640i GC with 55K miles and have had zero issues.

Right before my warranty ran out, when I was at about 40k miles, I had the brakes and some of the front end suspension ‘soft bits’ replaced under warranty/BMW maintenance contract. That was a bit over a year ago and I’ve had zero problems since. I am now at 53K and she runs perfectly.

I will probably replace the plugs when I near 60k. As far as I can tell reliability is not an issue with the 640s. I have no qualms about keeping her for at least another year - until the chip crisis is over and I can buy a slightly used 850 or perhaps a B8 for a reasonable price. Happy Motoring!

I did! And it’s amazing. The best part is that it blows all of the residual moisture out of the crevices that always seem to drip into your wax at the least opportune times. It’s become a staple of my wash routine.

I use Zymol Carnauba wax. It’s really great. You apply it literally with your hands!

Can/should you apply wax to the plastic bra covering bumper/hood and side view mirrors?

That’s a good question! I guess I would. If only to keep the surface of the plastic coated with the same product as the paint - so they reflect light the same. I would take extra care at the edges, make sure not to leave wax residual.
