BMW F06 rear view back up camera retrofit

Just to get the ball rolling whilst waiting for the wiring to arrive. Will be tackling this when I get the time. Attached detailed instructions for back up camera retrofit.

Can't wait to get this working. Actually looks easy enough to do.

I have just retrofitted comfort seats to the car, very pleased, left to do is coding. And a proper power wire to pin 1 on the seat plug connectors. Ready to tackle this back up camera. I will post many pictures for this one.

The basic wiring kit is about £40 off eBay excluding the camera connection cable.

We need a longer camera cable with fakra connections. Also easily available on eBay.

Will update again soon.

Does the assembly need to come out to replace the roundel?

It does not. The roundel can be removed and replaced with the camera assembly still installed on the car.

Finally got the f06/f13 camera wiring off eBay, have been casually looking for it whenever I had some time. I'm going to study it to possibly replicate it. The general wiring is easy to get hold of, it's the tailgate wiring c and d parts I think which have been difficult to source. Will update when I get the time to have a go.
