Best Bang For The Buck Bolt Ons
since i live in miami, i've been in contact with the guys at active autowerkes about a tune for the car. according to them, the tune works best in conjunction with other mods, but i feel their prices are a little outrageous. $3800 for an exhaust and some downpipes seems a little ridiculous imo.
what bolt ons have you guys used that have gotten real results and not broken the bank? thanks! |

Opps didn't realize you were referring to the n63. I'm talking about the s63 motor haha. Over all the concept should be about the same though. Downpipes, air filters, and tune will be your best bang for the buck.

just downpipes and a tune will do wonders.

If you go with Catless....they all will throw a CEL.
If you go with aftermarket catted...it’s a 50/50 chance of no CEL. Your tune will get rid of the light but the error will still be there in your pending codes if you plug a OBD scanner into it. Also with a Catless you will never get into a “ready” status for emissions inspection. If you live in a state that checks for readiness. Your cat and post cat o2 will never be ready. So every year you will have to revert to map0\stock tune to pass. I also needed to add a o2 spacer just to get different readings between pre and post cat. Now with that said...I love my Vrsf downpipe. Good price, excellent build quality and adds a nice little exhaust note. Couple that with a intake and a tune. And you’ll have a nice starting point. And don’t forget to do those charge pipes. Had mine explode on me an hour from home. Last edited by Nice95gle; 12-17-2018 at 08:32 PM.. |
