headlight washers

I don’t want the headlight washers to fire when I use the windshield washer, but lately they have been. Any suggestions? (2016 640i GC)

it can be coded out or you can disconnect the power to the headlight washer pump.

I can't figure out how they work. Sometimes they go on, sometimes they don't?

It is coded to clean the headlights every so many windshield washer cleanings. It can also be coded to never do it (which is what I have since we don't have to clean snow and ice off the headlights here) It can be set Active or non active. The number of squirts during headlight cleaning. Headlight blocking time. Time between pulses. There is also a speed above which it does not spray. Duration of spray.
You can code this using BimmerCode which is easy to use. There are other software packages that can do it as well be they require a little mode in depth knowledge.

I always thought the high beam need to set to on in order for the headlight washer to spray, but then I never really pay attention about that function .

Thanks for this! I will code it to non-active this morning!

The headlights (as mentioned above) get washed on an interval…AND…the headlights have to be ON in order for them to get washed.

If you haven’t done any coding…your headlamp washing system should work as described below:
