Question Wireless Charging Retrofit

I've seen the posts before where people talked about retrofitting wireless charging onto the 6 series using the BMW OEM part no. 84102449887.

Basically this replaces the existing phone mount with a snap in dock that will wirelessly charge the phone. However, it still has the problem of occupying a large amount of space in the console.

I note there appears to be a second type of OEM wireless charger release by BMW which is seen in the link below. This one is more like a pocket that the phone slides into and seems far more space efficient.

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/b...28.html#agal_2

There are three questions ultimately for this:

1. Can this part be retrofitted onto a 2013 F06 (or any pre face-lift 6 series)?
2. If so, what part number is this?
3. Has anyone done this before? I searched on here and found no examples.

Click the link below and scroll down to the wireless charging case info...click and you'll be presented with a vehicle information drop-down box to see if it fits your BMW. The part 11 digit BMW part nbr listed on shopbmwusa.com is 84212449610:

EDIT: did a bit more searching...it seems to be in the early stages of being released. The "wireless charging case" appears in the diagram for the G chassis 7 series as item #2...but item #2 is NOT listed in the part nbr index below the diagram.

Considering it's a $500 battery and easily $1000 of other power equipment, I wouldn't use the car to charge a phone.

I never charge my phone in the car. It's cheaper to use a separate power bank

At the moment my built in USB port always has a lightning cable connected to it to connect to my iPhone and I use the cigarette lighter in the centre console to charge power banks that I use if I'm going away for a week, going on a hike, or need to charge my Cygnett 27,000mah USB C power bank that can charge my X1 Carbon via USB C)

I don't see an issue with using either port while the car is running but I'm definitely worried about using it if the car isn't running and draining the battery.
