I'm sorry for offending everyone!
But do they seriously look ugly? Or is it because they are LM knock offs? I think they look nice, and when I got these wheels, they were a very popular replica wheel in both the Japanese and euro car scene. I remember tons of m3s and 5 series rocking them. But that was years ago and I know things change, but just asking

I confess like a few others that mentioned it...I'm not exactly a "black wheel" fan. But if going with black wheels...then at least be consistent with the overall "blackening" (like having exterior shadowline trim). And as your car was first presented...everything "worked" with having black wheels (the shoes (aka wheels) matched the outfit) When you put these silver wheels on your M6...they now stand out differently than the rest of the car's color scheme. You have black grills, and black shadowline exterior trim, black door handles and it looks like the thingies on the front fenders are even black....but the wheels are silver....and appear to be the only thing silver on the car. Even your car's color (space gray) has black undertones...so again, the silver wheels come across as mismatched because they aren't following the color scheme. Some may not even be able to verbalized it...but may just be reacting to cognitive dissonance (something is wrong but they can't put their finger on it). The silver wheels are similar to the faux pas of wearing a brown belt and brown shoes with a black suit....or white shoes with a black tux, cumberbund, and bow-tie But in the end...its your car and your decision...and all that matters is if you like it...regardless of how we feel or the comments we make. The original set-up with black wheels get a score of: The new set up with the silver wheels get a score of:

Anyways, I always felt LMs (Knock off or not) were a classic design that pretty much went with any style of car, including the 6. Guess I need to just become more familiar with newer wheels out there that match the level of this car!

Let the man enjoy his wheels! That being said, i see those wheels from time to time and they are on older bmws (e46/e60) but not on Ms and not on a grand coupe. But if my dude likes em, thats all that matters!!!

My God....take those wheels off.
Nothing that was in the Japanese car scene, let alone years ago, belongs on this car or any other M. BMW does an excellent job, M6 included, of the designs for the wheels on their M cars. Space gray is actually a great color for black wheels....they pop but won't be as showy as white/black if you dislike flash.

Those wheels cheapen the look of your GC. Why not powdercoat the stock wheels?

Your M6 GC looks like a hot lady in sexy dress with high heels on in the first two photos. It's gorgeous.
In the third one, the same hot lady, in same sexy dress, but wears shining sneakers. They are not made for each other. |
