First road trip 71 mph - 24 mpg

Drove from South Florida to Baltimore in my new to me 650i. Averaged 71 mph and 24 mpg. Mostly set the cruise control to 82 mph (gps adjusted 79-80). Ran an Escort 9500 plus waze. Saw a few cops but not many. One major slowdown in Jacksonville on the ring highway, and between DC and Baltimore.

First real run flat experience, definitely nosier and stiffer. Hitting round sewer covers in Baltimore was like a massive pothole. Never had that issue with my rental cars.

Head back Saturday, should be easier, as the map shows it all downhill.

I was in comfort plus, full auto for transmission. Used cruise control, mostly flat ground. Occasional runs over 90 mph when available. had to use 92 octane on one stop, I am not sure I have ever seen that number before in 59 years.

Had similar gas mileage on a trip last week from northeast Indiana to the Bufflao NY area (approx 400 miles one way). I started off in COMFORT mode...then after so little traffic I actually switched over to Eco-Pro mode which I NEVER use if driving around in town. For the engine and power etc...I thought 24 MPG was pretty good.

Another interesting tid bit...I plugged my phone into the USB port in the glove box and had Google maps on as well as the iDrive map (both had the same directions)...and the Google map's (lady voice) would usually respond slightly before the iDrive's (lady voice) then the visuals would appear in the HUD. And as I crossed over into a new state...the Google map lady would let me know and welcome me to the new state over the car's speakers. And she also warned me of a speed trap area. It was a first in trying to operate both google maps & iDrive at the same time. More so surprised in that I didn't even know that my phone would give directions through the speakers. I'm not even sure what I did...I just remember that when I plugged the phone in with google map already initiated...I got a prompt in iDrive to select something (was it APPS?).

Well second leg of trip ended Sunday. First day was stuck in I-95 Virginia corridor with tons of traffic, what was supposed to be an 8 hour trip took 9.5. Made up speed on Sunday, so arrived in only 7.5 hours, mostly in the mid to high 80s. Saw the same mpgs.

Run flats suck. Noisy and hard.

Had a pretty good run myself this weekend on the way back from the lake place in northern MN. Surprisingly good economy when you have self-control

2016 M6 Gran Coupe, moderate traffic towards the end of the trip. A/C on all the way.

Done in my M2 Drive mode with Sport Plus Drivetrain, Comfort Suspension, Sport Steering, Level 2 Shift Setting

Drove 6 hours to get the car. On the way back to my state there 650i convertible drove like a dream. The roads were smooth but I turned on the Eco mode and I was doing exceptionally well on gas.
