Alex Roy worked on the Drive channel and does a lot of writing for the Drive also.

Read Alex's book, it's much more entertaining than the film - which Cory did a poor job editing. It's good, don't get me wrong, but it should have been great. Alex's book, on the other hand, is spectacular.

yeah the record is now 28 and change. whether its 28 or 32 its still a hell of a fast drive.

I drove from Blacksburg, VA to Elk Grove, CA last July. It was a real bitch. I think it took a solid 3.5 days. After day two in the car its like the twilight zone. I drove every single mile, though I did have a passenger. Let me just say... tons of flower was burned

Without doing a lot of research... are these record runs all done with a single driver or are they in tandem, switching off? Does time spent resting count?

It's usually 2 drivers who take turns driving/sleeping. There is no time spent resting, except for trying to sleep while the other driver is behind the wheel. Every hour/minute/second counts.

Alex had to wait quite a few years (7 iirc) before releasing the doco due to some of the states he drove through having laws around how long after a speeding offence you can admit to it - whatever the law jargon is
