I'm a newbie to the M6 so I don't know much, but here is my story. I saw a BMW come flying by me on the interstate and it was gorgeous. I couldn't tell what it was but I told myself I had to buy one. I think it was a 650, but after reading up on them, I went with a 2018 M6 in Singapore Metallic Gray. I
've had it about 2 months and today was the first day I was challenged. A 6.2 liter Dodge Challenger/Hellcat, I couldn't tell what it was but it was new. I saw the 6.2 liter on the side. He pulled up beside me and we were both doing about 80 mph when he punched it. I had slipped it down into 4th gear in Sport mode and he was almost a car length ahead of me before my turbos spooled up. I quickly walked him down and was leaving him behind when he had to break. His car had to be over 700 hp and mine is a stock 560. I was pretty happy with the results. Would I have been better off to start in 3rd gear? Still trying to figure it out.

I will say that's surprising, but none the less good run. 80 mph pulls is the sweet spot for hellcats as they have pretty bad traction issues. I always tell people to "know your race"..meaning, what is the best gear/mph/RPMs for your car. This comes with practice. I haven't done many 80 mph pulls, but I would say 3rd may work slightly better. It would be a quick shift, though.

For the record, a couple weeks ago I raced a 850 crank hp hellcat on a tire from 60-130 and I won by a car and a half. Just goes to show the potential of these cars.

I've seen many different races with our cars and hellcats. Even both heavily modded. It seems hellcats always pull ahead at initial start and always end up getting reeled and pulled on the higher it goes.

Good run nonthless and welcome to the forums!
