Weren't you just quoting us about repeating history or something.

I only change 2 gears now, makes it easier to get over the bridge. I think I probably have 18 on my dad's old Trek.

I bought a Trek Marlin 4 for my younger brother in FL, which is not known for its hills. It has 21 speeds. I'm thinking 18 of them are useless.

My area of California is probably amazingly similar in topography. Trek yellow. . .

In some year when I still knew what was important in life, I remember watching my father fueling the car. I told him we need to drive less cuz one litre of petrol cost the same as one litre of milk.

Today a litre of milk in finland costs (milk that would be sold in the usa as GMO free, organic and produced on small farming units) € 0.87 per litre. Petrol is around 1.4 euros.

I'm so fucking old I remember when the cows were seen as something to support instead of international energy companies.

So, all the time when I'm listening to the radio, and the beginning of a song (especially instrumental intro) comes on, I'm thinking "I can name that song in 4 notes" I want to tell these #whippersnappers about Name that Tune, but they won't understand.

Lo and behold, coming in January on Fox . . .

I can name it in two! I was just thinking that the other day. I do find it amazing I can remember the name of songs on two notes from 40 years ago, but can't remember why I just got up to leave my office.

You know you're old when you didn't have a screen in your car that showed the name of the song playing.

You know you're old when you remember life BEFORE pagers, flip phones and disc-man. How about listening to records on the record player - 33s and 45s.

Got off my lawn!

I do too....I was in my teens listening to Milli Vanilli and Ace of Base on records while dreaming of becoming an adult. Now, I wish I could go back to those days minus the crappy music choices

Get off my lawn - I was already married a handful of years when that crappy music came out.

How about the fax machines with the cylinders that you clipped the heat sensitive paper into? I think you could chose 2, 3 or 5 minutes per page? It smelled nasty. Or the telex machine? Damn I'm old.

I've got a stack of 78s that I occasionally listen to on my turntable. Have a nickel taped to the stylus arm, to stop it from skipping on the old/wavy records.

Get off MY lawn, kid!!!!!

We would loop the outgoing faxes to people so it would just run and run and run at the other end

That kid is driving too fast through the neighborhood...

Turn down your music

Phones with 6 foot cords. No cell phones or Laptops. How about no microwaves when we were young. Frozen dinners got cooked in the oven. Popcorn was made an expanding aluminum foil pan on the stove.

TV's had three channels, we had to get up to change the channel, and some were color, some were black and white.

Cars all had V-8s and most of them were made in the USA.

Gas was 30 cents a gallon.

Johnny Rutherford won the Indy 500 in 1974 when I watched my first race. In an Offenhauser with team McLaren.

There was no such thing as the internet.

We read newspapers.
