That's pretty awesome. My most memorable aviation moment was flying to Australia on the upper deck of a 747.

I had to take a second look at your response. I first thought you mentioned something about an "upper decker."

My most memorable aviation moment was an Emergency abort 3/4 of the way down the runway due to right engine failure on my way to China. Good news is, I had a spare change of underwear... the bad news was, it wasn't on my carryon...

We were in a 777 HEAVY and the plane shook like hell... Nothing happened, everyone was safe. When we got back to the terminal, I took a sharpie out of my bag and put a mark on the armrest of my seat. My business partner asked me whet I was doing... I told him they are not fixing right engine failure over night, if we get back on tomorrow and its the same plane, you're going by yourself...

Funny coincidence. I took a *very* rare (for me) round-trip flight at the end of June, on a small budget airline that I know for a fact only has two A319's based at the airport where the crew was from. On the first flight, someone had marked an arrow above my seat with a sharpie for reasons unknown.

When we boarded our return flight and sat in the same seats, I noticed that the sharpie arrow was not there. I also noticed that the seat creaked whenever I moved, and the cabin LED lighting was a random mix of two different color temperatures. It looked like this plane was put together from spare parts, and the thing was creaking like a 1980's Chevy with a plastic interior as we did our taxi to the runway. On the takeoff roll, I thought for sure that the plane was going to fall apart in the middle of the runway!

Having crossed flying on a Scarebus off my list, me thinks that my feet will remain on terra firma from now on.....

Wasn't a sharpie... On a trip to Australia, I booked the same seats/same plane down and back.

So I stuck a gum under the armrest and 3 weeks later, you guest it, it was still there

But did you continue to chew it on the flight back? That is the question.

My son flies the A319 and A320 for a major airline and it's actually a very good airplane: good in this case because it is well maintained.

Lesson: Cheap airlines = minimal maintenance.

The second A319 appeared at least to my untrained eyes to have many more flight hours on it, and I can only imagine the number of cabin pressurization cycles when they were flying it on 6-8 short legs per day.

Plus, I'm not sure that one or both planes wasn't a seasonal loan/lease from an intertwined South American airline who also flies A319's, since the route that I was flying is only offered May-October. The emergency procedures cards were generic Airbus, with no airline branding. Don't know if that is common these days, but I always remember branded cards in the olden days.

No big deal, since my next flight will be on a Boom Overture SST...if I live that long.....

No, it was not a normal color though, nasty green, and smelled like death, more than normal I should say. I also was timing my contractions for the arrival.

My friends birthday party awhile back? Well, she had a blue velvet cake made.

Went to the bathroom the next day to do my daily morning "drop the kids off at the pool." Almost had a heart attack, assumed I was dying.

Never ate a blue fucking birthday cake or cupcake since, lol.
