The main reason is that pretty much any BMW Individual color can be ordered by any customer willing to pay the $7000 or so. There's no known breakdown of the numbers and of all the colors that have been ordered, but personally, I'm aware of a ton of one-off colors out there such as: - Pure Metal Silver https://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1228188 - Fire Orange https://www.bmwblog.com/2014/05/15/b...e-fire-orange/ -Java Green https://www.bmwblog.com/2014/03/12/j...ition-package/ - Laguna Seca Blue https://www.bmwblog.com/2014/02/20/2...una-seca-blue/ - Frozen Blue https://www.6post.com/forums/showthr...1102439&page=3 - Atlantis Blue https://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1463219 - Frozen Cashmere https://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=890831 - Frozen Grey https://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=788949 - Champagne Quartz I have personally seen this color being sold by a local dealer this time last year. Get it? Pretty much any color in the Individual program pallet is buyable if you have the funds. The most common colors will be these that were directly configurable online, and even with these, I'm going to guess some colors are probably just as rare as Individual colors as many people probably didn't order it (such as Mojave, Citrin, Ruby, Jatoba): Alpine White III 300 BMW AG 02/2012 through 09/2018 Black Sapphire metallic 475 BMW AG 02/2012 through 09/2018 Havanna (Mojave) metallic A17 BMW AG 02/2012 through 02/2015 Space Grey metallic A52 BMW AG 02/2012 through 09/2018 Imperial Blue brilliant effect A89 BMW AG 02/2012 through 09/2018 Jatoba Brown metallic B65 BMW AG 03/2015 through 09/2018 Silverstone II metallic A29 BMW M 02/2012 through 09/2018 Singapore Grey metallic B41 BMW M 02/2012 through 09/2018 Sakhir Orange metallic B50 BMW M 07/2012 through 09/2018 San Marino Blue metallic B51 BMW M 02/2012 through 09/2018 Citrin Black metallic X02 BMW INDIVIDUAL 02/2012 through 09/2018 Ruby Black metallic X03 BMW INDIVIDUAL 02/2012 through 09/2018 Moonstone metallic X04 BMW INDIVIDUAL 02/2012 through 09/2018 Tanzanite Blue metallic X10 BMW INDIVIDUAL 02/2012 through 09/2018 Frozen Bronze metallic X11 BMW INDIVIDUAL 03/2013 through 09/2018 Frozen Brilliant White metallic X16 BMW INDIVIDUAL 03/2015 through 09/2018

OP - That dealer is probably not lying to you. I have observed that in Europe, there are a lot of one-off one of a kind Individual colors made for many M cars. Dealers would order it and the car would sit on the showroom for close to a year sometimes more as the dealer would ask for a premium. It appears BMW allowed the dealers to have exclusive right to that color and may have excluded others in Europe from ordering the same color (at least in the same model year). Overall, the take rate in the M6 is also much lower than in the US, so any Individual color in Europe will be much more unique. I've seen this happen many times with M3s where a ton of very unique colors pop up in Europe every few months.
IMO, these colors are cool, but none of it is worth paying a premium for. What you may value as "exclusive" may not be what the next buyer may value. Ask yourself, why is this car STILL sitting there at the dealership and not sold if it's so damn "popular" or "in demand"? btw, what color is it? I may be able to get some research on it and see how exclusive it really is.

Java Green is a mean colour! Almost bought this one about a year ago, but then came to my senses - with this colour probably nearly unsellable when time would come to let go of it...
