2014 640i Cabriolet - New Owner Questions

Hi all, I apologize in advance but the search function doesn't seem to be working for me...

question 1 - my car didn't come with HUD but appears to have the dash component to project it - is this something that can be unlocked with coding?

question 2 - i'm looking for some front lip options that are subtle/factory looking, mostly to protect my front bumper from any further scrapes underneath. any recommendations

You sure HUD isn't turned off? It's under Settings in iDrive.

That's what I thought too but it's grayed out in the settings

I must be losing my mind. Totally forgot about the button under the headlight switch. Can you turn it on from there? There may be something wrong with it if it's greyed out though.

Ultimate face palm moment. Yes that was all it was the button under the headlight switch lol thanks!

Thank you for giving me something to laugh at today. I didn't know you could turn it off and couldn't see the GPS directions, radio, and phone with my polarized sunglasses on. Once I found that button to turn it off I could see those in the gauge cluster. took me about 3 months to figure that out.
