Will a road bike fit into the F06 Gran Coupe?
Hi.
I am considering the F06 Gran Coupe in my next car. I love to ride a road bike. A road bike can easily be placed in the rear seat of a typical sedan, just by removing the front wheel. However, the Gran Coupe has a protruding rear console, so it will not be easy to put a bicycle in. Is there any of the F06 Gran Coupe owners who ever put a road bike in the rear seat or trunk? Thanks. Last edited by ever0free0; 04-13-2021 at 12:49 AM.. Reason: To insert pictures |

Will it fit? It will, and it's very tight. But, I would never take the chance of a sprocket, chain, fork or derailer marring up my Merino Leather.
I use a Thule Race Way Pro 2 on the trunk with no problems noted on the deck lid over thousands of miles carrying two road bikes. I have carried as many of ten sets of skis back there with both seats down and a massive rubber mat for protection |

Ditto Frupal...the rear seats fold down on the GC...so if the other parts of the bike can fit in the trunk and the lid close...you do gain the space from the rear seats folding down...and it kind of protects the leather seating surfaces since the rear of the seat is covered in the same carpet-like material in the trunk.

Please post pics of this.
I have a 56CM large frame road bike, it is CRAZY difficult to make the clearance of the short trunk opening and not gouging paint with the drop bars and crank in place without a second person and that's with the front wheel removed. I have packed it on busses, planes etc. and really struggled with getting it in and out of the GC before I got the THULE rack. You must be a clever packer. |

Not scratches or marks ever, but I'm very careful to never put it on when the car is dusty, dirty or wet. I take this on an off my GC at least 3 times a week.

You right. My (future) leather seat is precious, but I also do not disturb exterior with a bike carrier. I think I'll make a decision only after dirt my seat. |

How kind of you are! I knew rear seat can be folded. But I'm not sure if the height of trunk opening is enough for my handlebar to pass. (width 40cm = about 16 inch) |

Thanks for reply. F06 Gran Coupe has a sexy butt (=small trunk space!). I also wondered the height of trunk opening is enough for my handlebars to pass. My frame size is 50 cm and width of handlebar is 40cm. But according to you "frame size" or "removal of font wheel" does not seem to matter. Crank and handlebar are problems. I'll post about this after I bough GC, thanks! |

Yea Ive put a large framed CLEAN Road bike in the trunk/boot with the from wheel removed. Don't like removing the rear as have to adjust the gears sometimes. My chain is very clean and lightly oiled.
Wouldn't recommend doing this all the time though to a car like this !! |
