Btw side note my android auto doesn't auto load I always have to gold menu down for 3 seconds then select the android pop up for wireless connection. Probably a setting wish i knew which one.

There's a fix for that ..you have to go and upgrade the firmware ..that gives you the auto connect .. there a link to the website on this thread ..it's in the bmw f30 section ....there's a list of all the new available firmware

wow sound like exactly the issue I had ..i drove for 2 days and didn't notice it ..i did notice additional info on my cluster that I never seen before ..reason is that info displays on the cluster when u have the HUD off ..lol well what I did ..because I had the same issue when I coded my.car ..i flashed the unit by faking i was upgrading the HUD To accept the turns signals on HUD..which it ain't possible with my unit since I have the full digital cluster, only works on the non digital cluster ..but the system powered down and reboot it back up ..once it did that , the HUD started to work again.. you mite b able to power down the unit by disconnecting the car battery .. don't know if that would work , when the unit powered down you seen it go thru a motion were u knew it was rebooting itself . hope this makes sense ..let me know

Just to clarify..i was coding my car a few months ago and that's when I had originally lost my HUD .. then a few weeks ago it happened again after the mmi install ..so i just connected my obd, opened my bimmertech app and proceeded to code something I really couldn't code just to get the unit to reboot

I dont have anything to code with nor do i know what to do so I must look into this. I'll try the battery method first and go from there.

ok ..not sure if it's gonna power up the way it suppose too ..but give that a try ..hope it works

Lately my unit has started to work properly. Waze now works and no double echo on calls. Was AA updated by Google? I haven't changed firmware on my MMI since the last update.

I started getting the connecting issues as well. I think it's because I kept on ignoring the message regarding no internet prompt... I found everything works faster and more consistent when I plug in via USB cable. It charges my phone at the same time.

Hello everyone.

Sorry for butting in. I've just installed the CIC version in my 2012 F13 640d. Had to wire to the idrive controller for everything to work properly. I'll try and attach the MCU version because it looks newer than I've seen on here and it could possibly help someone?

The unit works really well. I can mirror my Galaxy S20 Ultra via Autolink and the USB port from the unit. Audio has to go through BT though.

Are u guys using the scroll wheel on the steering wheel to control the unit? Because when I press the phone button it doesn't control the hud list anymore. Also when placing calls sometimes I cant hear the other person but they can hear me. Also pressing the phone button on the steering wheel brings the phone up on the unit but if I press select it selects whatever contact the hud was displaying. Very odd. Wasn't doing this a few weeks back. What have u got your settings set to for phone calls on the menu for the unit?

My experience is with iPhone and CarPlay:

The phone button and scroll wheel only work with HUD and the phone when my Bluetooth is connected phone to the car’s factory unit. What i have found is after a few uses my iPhone “remembers” to use the car’s Bluetooth for phone and the add on unit (car play) for music etc. I’ve had to manually assign these a few times on my phone while using it and then the phone remembers which Bluetooth connection to use.
