BMW Struts

My 2006 BMW front BMW struts completely gone bad. I had to replace them. Is it the norm for BMW struts to go bad in 5 years. To replace I had to pay $1257 at a local mechanic not BMW. BMW wanted $1500. I feel that I was taken.

Strut/shock wear is directly related to the type of roads you drive on. Avoiding potholes, rough spots in the road, and slowing for RR crossings will save a lot of wear and tear on them.
