M6 Downpipes

Hey guys just out of curiosity how long did it take you guys to install catless downpipe on the m6.

Also if anyone knows of any good shops for it in the Tampa area.

So far I've been quoted 6 hours at $850 which from I read online is about double of what the actual price should be.

AutoWorks Of Tampa is highly regarded in the area. I'm in Ocala, and there are a ton of great shops in Central FL. Precision Sport Industries & WTF Motorsports also very highly regarded in the area.

I took my time installing mine over the course of a couple days and did sparkplugs at the same time. It's a very straightforward install though. I'd recommend having the sparkplugs done at the same time if you're going to run stage 2 tunes.

BMW M Tax 850$ is crazy and there's no way it takes 6 hours to install downpipes on the s63tu. I haven't installed mine yet on my m6 but multiple times on and off on my 335i and those are about a 2-3 hour job at max. These look easy to install and shouldn't be no more than a 3 hour job at a shop.

That's kinda what I figured lol. I may ask my dad to do it and pay him but he's against the modding idea 😂

I was surprised by the time that was quoted to fit downpipes as well. Whilst it is straightforward, its pretty tight at the back of the engine and you have to remove a number of things that takes time.

I was quoted around 6 or so hours as well. They got it done in half the time by using two people (one per side).

When i was first told the price, i thought it was high. I enquired with a few other places and got the same sort of prices back, and just went with the shop that i was most comfortable with.

Take about 2 hours to do them, its not hard at all. You could do them in an autozone parking lot
