Probably had her tips added in to gross, then taxes deducted. Since she already had the tips in cash, they would be deducted after the tax calculation. The effect is to remove the withholding taxes on her tips from her other compensation (min wage for servers, most likely). This is how the employer is supposed to tax tips, and it also is why tip earners under-report tips if they can.

Relevant ... how? I don't see her deductions. She's a server making most of her money through tips. She could have her health insurance and 401k money deducted from her paycheck leaving the .01. And, there's no mention of how many hours are on that paycheck. Who gets paid for 6 weeks of work? Or it could be a check purchased from Office Depot that she typed up to promote herself on TikTok. Either way a nothing-burger.

Added: Although I've never been on TikTok, I just checked out her postings and there's no shortage of partying, piercings, tattoos...... apparently, however she is getting paid or compensated, she doesn't seem to be suffering. There's also no shortage of open jobs so if that one isn't working out........... move along......... move along.

I've been out of the restaurant business since 1999. Back then it wasn't unusual for a server to make $1000-1500 a week in tips. Their hourly rate was $2.63 an hour.

So if they worked 25 hours their "paycheck" was $65.75 gross before taxes. Assuming back then that 50% of customers paid with a credit card (most likely around 90% now) Their "reported tips" were $500-$750 a week, so their gross was $565- $816 a week.

Using $700 for nice easy numbers, Using current numbers, at min federal rate of 10%. Just federal withdrawals would be $70. FICA of 7.65% is $53.55

so the server would get a VOID check, but the reality is that she's on pace to make over $75K with most of that as unreported (untaxed) income

She's a TikTok person. That's way more lucrative than IG now. She's literally probably making hundreds of thousands a month.
