1. Yes. its the latest available for NEXT
2. I coded my car as well
3. No. Does not affect coding or tunes. You will need an FSC code to install the map unless you purchased a lifetime code in the past

BadSeed - I have downloaded the files from your first post, unzipped them to a USB drive and for some reason when I go to my 2015 x5, nothing happens. Nothing pops up on the screen to update the navigation at all. I have a lifetime FSC due to a purchase I made awhile back directly from BMW.
So what am I doing wrong?

1. You are 100% sure you have NBT & not NBT EVO?

2. The file system of your USB drive is FAT32?
If not, you can use this app to format it to FAT32

http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/ind...?guiformat.htm

3. You have the following files\folders in the root of the flash drive?
config.nfm
NBT_NANT_111184.3.112.pkg
NBT_NANT_111184.3.112.pkg.sig
Folder 1
Folder 2
Folder 3
Folder 4

4. Some cars have 2 USB ports but only one can be used to load maps\music. You'll need to figure out which one you need to use

I'm pretty sure its the NBT one. When I go to map version on the car it says NBT not NBT EVO. Using info guide from Bimmer-tech.net since its a 2015 x5 it checks as being the NBT one.

Yes, the format of the USB is FAT32. The link you provided is the one I used to format the drive to FAT32

Yes, those files/folders are under the main folder for the map update.

The only USB port in the car is in the arm rest.

Did you use the USB port in the center console?

On the USB drive, when you open it in File Explorer, you immediately see the files & folders or are they all inside another folder?

Not sure what else it could be. Do you have another USB drive to use?

Figured it out. I had to move all the files/folders out of the folder it was unzipped to. Now that the car is recognizing it as an update, its now asking me for an FSC code! Any way to get this without paying for another?? I know I purchased a lifetime one a couple of years ago.

The only way is to use an ENET cable & ESYS application to generate a DE.FSC file. Instructions are in the 1st post. Whoever created the FSC code you purchased clearly didn't set it as a lifetime code.

Could those maps be used to update NBT EVO? If not, then how to update maps for EVOs?

My 2016 640i seems to have NBT NEO v4. See the screenshot:

Thank you!

Screenshot shows NEXT Map, meaning NBT, not EVO map for NBT2 ID4/5/6.

I guess, you are right. The car has recognized uploaded 2020-1 NEXT maps from the USB and asked for FCS code.
I bought a lifetime code on eBay for $10 to avoid e-sys hassle this time.
The update took about a couple of hours from USB-3 drive.

BTW, I've used 256GB USB-3 drive formatted as FAT32 on Mac - worked nicely. Make sure to clean up all those hidden files if you do the same.

Thanks for helping!

Do you mind sharing who you bought the code from? So many sellers on Ebay, would be nice to know a legit one especially for 10 bucks!
