Carbon Fiber Roof damage
I purchased a 2014 M6 GC sight unseen from a dealership in TX. For the most part, the car is in as good a condition as I could expect considering age, mileage, etc, but a couple of things are bothersome
- The carbon fiber roof shows a few areas of pitting/damage - guessing it was caused by pebbles/stones hitting the roof, although it is towards the back of the roof. Any suggestions on remedies? - the rubber weather stripping on the door frame is damaged - I'm hoping it's a simple DIY to replace this. Thanks. |

I would imagine that the CFRoof could be re-cleared by a body shop. But you could potentially wet sand and polish it as well if you know how to do that. Not very Hard. The door seal is probably an easy fix. look at real oem and find the PN and order online.

Doing a re-clear is an option, but likely expensive. Since there are only a couple spots and chips that look to be on the surface, why not lay down some cyanoacrylate (Krazy Glue), let it harden, sand flat with pro grade paper used for paint work, then polish? If done carefully, I'll bet you'll never see it.
