Volume control knob #65126923294 does not fit?
Hi all,
My sister has a BMW 630i E64 Convertible Europe(right Steering) 3.00 l / 190 kW (N52) Manufactured: 2007-03-22 She wanted to change her old volume control knob (and other buttons ) as you can see from the photo. So I ordered a #65126923294 which according to https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...30/65126923294 is supposed to be the right part. When it arrived an hour ago I tried to install it, but to my surprise, they are not the same! The old one has a plastic insert which protrudes from the rubber housing and attached onto the metal pole of the volume encoder. The new part does not have a protrusion to grab onto the encoder. Am I missing something? BTW. I tried to pull the plastic protrusion from the old one, gently with pliers, but it seems to be well joined to the rubber housing. |

I found an interesting Russian thread here:
https://www.drive2.ru/l/1728000/ 65839216362 looks exactly like mine. 65839216363 is a bit fancier but could still work. Unfortunately both the above for some strange reason are charged at over 40 USD which is not nice. I have looked at aliexpress for generic volume knobs which I could try. If you have any suggestions let me know. |

I would recommend not just looking at the knob…but read the info in the part number index below the diagram to see what the knob is attached to.
The first number you posted is listed as being a knob for the professional business nav system and the unit looks like it only had one slot in the illustration. The pic you posted of your sister’s set up…shows a unit that has a CD & DVD slot…if you look up the part number for the CCC/CD unit (the illustration has the two slots like your sister’s)…that is probably the knob & part number you need (ends in 9119609) Use your sister’s VIN in the parts database site (bimmercat.com or realoem.com) and pull up the diagram for the component the knob is attached to…this will help you get top the correct part number. Also take note of the build date info in those columns. Since we don’t know the VIN of her car…we are at a disadvantage….so again, use here VIN to look up the correct part nbrs etc.

Hi and thanks for helping.
We do know the VIN last seven digits: B741863 Searching for DVD I get this: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=65_1453 #8 Rotary knob is not specified here. https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/search/...0i/ECE/65_1453 #8 Rotary knob is mentioned here though: https://bimmercat.com/bmw/en/parts/i...ob/65839119610 Supersession Part number Production ended 1 65839119609 production 2 65839119610 23.08.2016 Now I just need to find a cheap source. Thanks for your help. PS. The photo is of 65839119610. (I cannot find a photo of 65839119609 but 65839216362 looks exactly like my original) Last edited by conandrum; 08-07-2024 at 03:38 AM.. |

Great...glad you were able to find the part nbr. Using her VIN...the diagrams didn't have the "KNOB" highlighted, but if you keep digging (like you did) some of the diagrams with the CCC/CD like your sis had came up with the #8 knob listed.
Hope you can find one at a reasonable price...if not, perhaps you can find a breaker (junk yard) that has one in good condition. https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...53#65839119610
