Center console door doesn't spring up

Did a few searches here and came up with Zilch. The left side 'door' of my center console does not pop up when I push the button. I have to open the right one, push the left button and then lift the left door. Very annoying. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!

The doors are spring loaded, and my guess is that the spring has snapped, or the plastic slot the spring goes into has broken. It has happened to others, and it has happened to me. I did a whole write up with pictures on fixing it, but that thread has vanished.

BMW doesn't just sell the spring alone, but the existing spring can still be used with an easy fix done to it, if it is indeed snapped. The plastic can also be addressed, if it is that rather than the spring. It is also not very difficult to get to.

I am looking to see if I still have the pics sitting on a hard drive, and I am also happy to show you in person, assuming you are still in Los Angeles.

Thanks for the response. I am in LA. I would love to see those pics. Idk what part of LA you’re in, I’m in West Hollywood.
